Dec. 13 Ready....Set....Go

 Ministry Partners,

We started the day with a hearty breakfast, and for me far more than I usually eat.I couldn't eat all mine so I packed some of it with Alfred's. He had to leave early to go to the University but will meet us at the prison, at 10. Early in the morning the prisoners are cleaning so we cannot get in until 10.

2 cinnamon crepes, an omelet rolled in a chapati and of course pineapple accompanied by African tea or regular tea. It was a bit of a small breakfast for the rest of the team.

All the preparations have been completed and the day has arrived to began entering prisons. Kasangati Prison is the first one. Our 2 1/2 - 3 hour crusade will remain the same today:

  1. Share the Gospel and my personal story giving the prisoners the opportunity to receive Christ as Savior
  2. Discipleship teaching time, who you are in Christ and your responsibility in the choices you make and how those choices affect your life and the person you are inside
  3. Forgiveness: If you now know God's forgiveness He calls you to forgive others and yourself. Lead them in a "Prayer of Forgiveness" over someone or themselves
  4. Teaching on apologizing, have them go to another inmate or staff - apologize, shake hands and ask for forgiveness

We met Alfred at the prison a little after 10 and met with the O.C. (Officer in Charge......Warden in U.S.)

He was happy we were there and appreciated the bibles, booklets and other supplies Pastor Peace had delivered yesterday. He said he had only been there 4 months.

I was thankful that they brought in the 20 women and they sat on the side so I only preached 1 time today.

They previously told Peace that there were 230 men there but today we found that they had brought in 170 new prisoners since yesterday when she was there. We say the Holy Spirit do a GREAT work today as everyone except about 10 received Christ as Savior and it was wonderful to see the 6 Mu. who sat in the front all choose Jesus and salvation today. About the same amount prayed forgiveness over someone else or themselves.

Over and over again we see How much God's timing is perfect. Within a minute or two after I finished speaking it began to rain hard and continued for about 2 hours.

We received a dinner invitation from a friend of Alfred's that is a Doctor and his wife manages a lovely restaurant complex and bakery. She actually is the one who made my birthday cake and would not let us leave without giving us some of the bead she made, not one loaf, not two loves but 3. I'm thankful we have a fridge he so we can put some in the freezing compartment. We have a wonderful, enjoyable time with them but the traffic was bad returning home so it made it late. I must quickly bathe and get to bed.

That none would be lost,

Arlene
