Dec. 11   Getting ready to go

Ministry Partners

Before I arrived Alfred and others signed my giant birthday card that he brought from Australia.
In a few weeks I will enter the year of my 80th birthday.

This morning I could not help but think about some of the positive comments Bishop John made yesterday about the work IRM is doing here. It is a good thing to be able to work with people here who see the value of and appreciate what we are doing. He says that because his name and Pastor Peace's contact info is on the back of the IRM Discipleship booklet that every week he is contacted by released prisoners who want prayer or council. His comments about the legacy we are leaving here were a blessing to hear. Just know that as partners with IRM you are making a difference in these prisons and the lives of the prisoners according to locals here.

It takes a number of day to ready everything but today the final preparations to begin visiting prisons begins.

There appeared to be an issue with our leased van so Alfred left at 6 this morning to navigate morning traffic and be at the companies shop to be first in line to get any repairs done. He arrived home at 7:30, they said we were responsible for $700 but the Lord intervened and Alfred bargained ending with $300.

Peace and Aaron sorted and counted bibles and Discipleship booklets. It is quite a project to decide just how many go to each each prison, then package the right amount of booklets to go to each prison. The new Commissioner's assistant did a great job in procuring a good amount of supplies for the money we provided. Blankets, soap and feminine hygiene products, those also have to divided and charted so Pastor Peace knows just what to offload at each prison. Her charts show the name of each prison and the number of men, women and children there. She has pretty much been in charge of that distribution program and does such a wonderful job as she goes ahead of the team with the truck making the rounds to each prison that the rest of the team will visit. The morning before the team sets off her list tell us how many additional supplies to take with us, scarves and crochet caps  provided by the women's group at Canby Foursquare Church. Thanks you, ladies.

The truck we hired arrived at 5pm and all the supplies were loaded. Peace is ready to leave at 6am in the morning.

After we ate dinner: 1 had Tilapia, 1 had chicken chefs salad, 1 had Fish stew and I had Minced meat Pizza with extra sauce and extra cheese. If you don't ask for double there will be hardly any.

Following dinner we sat together and took communion together and prayed concerning the upcoming trip. A special time.

Tonight it will be good for me to be in bed by 10.

We are seeing demonic attacks followed by God's provision as we get close to doing the first prison the day after tomorrow.

Please continue to pray for the prisoners salvation and for us.

That none would be lost,

Arlene
